Do I need to complete the Lead Like A Woman program before I can offer it to my clients?

Yes, we highly recommend it. Not only is it a great personal development experience for you professionally and personally, it ensures you can walk the talk when it comes to supporting your clients. We’ve found going through the program yourself is a great way to really understand the content, discover the playsheets you’d like to use for clients, and identify the coaching circle topics you think will be more relevant for the people you’re helping.

Which type of clients would Lead like A Woman be suitable for? Is it tailored to individuals or groups as well?

Whether your clients are self-employed, working part-time, a team leader, or a professional woman in a position of leadership, they will benefit from Lead like A Woman if they’re open to discovering how to live and lead better. We’ve found this content valuable for women in their early 20s and just figuring out where they want their career to go, in their 30s and 40s as they start to navigate family and work, and their 50s and 60s as they think about transitioning to retirement and how they want to navigate these changes. It is most suited to women who are functioning, but struggling to consistently flourish. It could be used with women experiencing more serious challenges, but we would recommend this is done alongside other therapeutical treatments.

We have also found this content for women and men to do together in workplaces. We teach the content exactly the same way, but make space in the conversation for men to reflect on how they use these approaches in their own life and how they could better support the women around them.

What is a group coaching circle?

Let’s face it, despite our best intentions, making these changes in the way we work and live and sticking with them can be hard. Life is busy. Our energy is limited. And few of us really understand how to work with our brains to make changes that last.

The truth is, making these changes a reality requires committed and dedicated effort. Just like eating one piece of broccoli isn’t suddenly going to make them healthy, or going for a run won’t make them fit, leading and living differently will require consistent weekly—and in some cases even daily and hourly—efforts for Lead like A Woman participants to really see who they are, and get what they truly want. Researchers have found that maintaining motivation is much easier with the support of others For example, studies have found that people who make New Year’s resolutions are much more likely to persevere for at least two years if they have social support. And that associating with people who share their goals gives them an automatic boost in focus, a ready sounding board when they get stuck, and a means to galvanize their commitment and perseverance. It can also make the whole endeavor a lot more fun.

Generally we recommend people allow about an hour each week to really savor and maximize the learning opportunity provided from the online program. Then the following week participate in a coaching session to reflect on how they’re applying the ideas in their work and their life. This is why we initially stagger a fortnightly release of the online content.

Some participants, however, will find that when it comes to steps like exploring their life vision that they really need some time to imagine what their future could look like. If people want to linger on any of the steps we’d encourage that they trust their own process, rather than racing to keep up. If you know you have very busy clients or people who will really need time to process the learning and apply it, then we’d suggest slowing it down so that each chapter and module is worked through over the space of one month.

There is no wrong answer. Just what’s right for the people you’re helping to really create lasting positive change in their life.
